P@S#D#N@!

Here we are on week two in Pasadena!!

1. I got to go to a ward picnic my first day!! Well the ward is a LOT younger than my last ward and there are actually children!! I love it!

2. We got to do service for the Kohnle's... they are an older couple in the ward and our service for them is playing crosswise... they are great people with strong testimonies but held back because they have so many health problems.

3. I made a scripture box... I always thought they looked fun and cool so I made one and it is SUPER cute!! I will have to send pictures someday :]

4. My companion got sick this week... she has what we call "Fish Eye" here eyes are puffy and dry/scaly... its is kinda gross but as long as I don't catch it ;]

5. We went to go see a referral which was in downtown LA... we got lost in to a random lil' Spanish ghetto... found the hospital FINALLY... then get lost in the hospital... then found the hall where the lady was and saw the most beautiful doctor, both Sister Pack and I look at each other like WHAT?! Then we visited the lady and she lives in Chino so we got a referrals for other sisters.

6. Hopefully we will have a baptism on Sunday for Ceaser!! He is progressing like CRAZY! And just soaking EVERYTHING up! As soon as we tell him a commandment he is like, 'Okay. I'll live it."

7. My third companion Sister Herrera is gone... I am now in a normal two of us companionship. Sister Pack and I get along VERY well. We LOVE to laugh and actually work! It is GREAT!!

8. Favorite scripture this week... D&C 80:3-5 I love that is says ANYWHERE we are called to serve. We must go believe and know it is true. i know that being here has strengthen me SO much i cant hardly stand it! I have truly here to do the will of Jesus Christ, who sent me. I just hope I can live up to that now.

A Baptism and A Transfer Call

Hello family! It is transfer 6 and I am transferred!! Crazy but exciting! Here is this weeks happenings…

1. I got to play dodge ball this week… CRAZY! I love it and the elders were actually fun while we were all playing! We even made root beer floats after.

2. So my last companion went into to talk to the mission president and so of course I had to go and I got to talk to him for a few minutes and whoa! He is such a good man! He really cares and he actually listens… President Becerra is awesome.

3. We got to make a cake for the “rat” Brother Baker. He always claims that the “rat” ate it when it is just him so now the legend of the rat just gets bigger and bigger! LOVE HIM!

4. Josh was baptized this week… SO great! He showed up and was nervous but during the whole thing he was so happy. Being able to see him so excited before then after was so cool. It was nice to be able to hear his testimony to after he was baptized. He is such a strong 15 year old. I love it! He will be a great full time missionary some day!

5. While at the baptism we had some people share their testimony and Seth our recent convert got up! Wow. How cool was it to hear him share his testimony of the gospel and of Joseph Smith and it was so sweet to hear his sincerity! Then after Josh was done changing he shared his testimony, WOW! I love it!! It was such a testimony builder to me to be able to hear the testimony of the people I was able to teach some of the gospel to and then to hear how it has affected their lives. What a blessing!! I LOVE IT!

6. I am now in... Pasadena!! Crazy eh? I am with a Canadian :] Her name is Sister Pack and she is 4 feet and 11 inches… if you forgot, I am 6 feet tall. This is gonna be funny! I am excited to be here… I don’t know what to expect from the area so it shall be fun!!

7. Favorite scripture this week was in Doctrine and Covenants 75:27. How true? We just need to ask and then as we LISTEN to the spirit we can know what to do… I think it takes some humbling to ask sometimes.

LOVE YOU ALL!!

11 Weeks in Charter Oaks

A total of 11 weeks here in Charter Oak now! Crazy how time goes so fast sometimes!

1. We had a "meet the president" this week. We got to meet him and his wife and have a motivational speech thing about our mission. President Becerra is amazing! He is all about relationships with people to truly help serve them better. He is a good man. I am excited to work with him he has already helped us out with a few things in our ward too.

2. We had a good week teaching! Lots of less active and investigator lessons. We got to meet with Josh who is getting baptized on Saturday!! He will have his interview on Thursday to make sure but most likely on Saturday! He is a great 15 year old and it is fun to watch him be so excited for his baptism.

3. We got to have a district type meeting with our ward missionaries where Sister Eggleston and I taught our of Preach My Gospel. We did a role play even with them to help them recognize the spirit while teaching. It really helped some of them realize how key the spirit is while teaching.

4. We saw a bumper sticker the other day which we both really liked it said, "God bless our troops, especially our snipers" hahah Love it.

5. We have had a few bumps with our ward mission leader that have been annoying but we will get through it!

6. We find out on Saturday if we will be staying in Charter Oak another transfer or sadly leaving... but I guess we shall see!!

Sorry I don't have much this week... I hope you are all doing GREAT!! I love you all and miss you tons!

A Visit to the Psych Ward

Yes, you read the subject right but I will go into more detail of that later on...

1. We made jewelery!! I'm talking like legit jewelry. We have a member in our ward who makes it and she invited us over on Prep day so we could all make some... it is SUPER cute! It was so nice of her to let us!

2.We had to say goodbye to our old mission president this past week. It was a little sad but I didn't have too close of a relationship with him to be more sad. But...

3.I already got to meet our NEW mission president this week! We went to the office to turn in our car miles and there he was! He is SHORT! But very nice and seems very personable which is something our old president I felt didn't really have. We have an official meeting on Wednesday with him and his family. Should be fun!

4. We made a peanut butter cake! Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE peanut butter!! So it was AMAZING!!

5. Yesterday it was 102 DEGREES!! And I was on exchanges with a sister who doesn't use the A/C... really?! It was still fun though :]

6. Speaking of exchanges... I went to the Creek side and Samoa ward... Didn't meet any Samoans but it was still fun besides the whole air conditioning thing

7. Psych ward... we went to go visit a less active man and we get there and this place has "High AWOL" signs EVERYWHERE! Since we had never seen or herd of this man before we asked the first desk lady if he was dangerous and points to the hall on the other side and says, "No, he would be in that hall if he was" Either way, he was a really nice guy and we get to go back and read the Book of Mormon with him!

8. Seth since his baptism and he is amazing! He pretty much teaches us the lessons now. It is amazing how much he has soaked up! He got confirmed this week and it was AMAZING!

9. I am reading the D&C and LOVE it! D&C 58:4 and 42. So true. If we just have patience and keep going we will be able to get through these hard times. And the things we have done that aren't so good... if we repent he will forgive and remember them no more... I think that is hard for people to realize, especially investigators. Just love the scriptures!

Love you all!!

Seth Was Baptized!

Hello everyone!! Wow. What a week! Let me tell you about it :]

1. My companion started to get chest pains Monday night, Tuesday night we went to urgent Care... they didn't take our insurance. She talked to a doctor on the phone and he said just go in tomorrow. Wednesday we went to the doctor he told her it was probably from stress. Friday she went to Physical Therapy... I sat in the waiting room for an hour and a half. LAME! But whatever we got to do, we got to do :]

2. The week was pretty slow until Saturday when... Seth was interview by our mission president to see if he was ready for baptism. By the subject of the email you can see he passed! BUT it wasn't till an hour after he went in that he came out! We came out and president said, "He is very prepared. Well done sisters." Oh my! Seth is getting baptized! What a blessing for him! He was nervous for his interview but he did great!

3. Sunday... BUSY! Sister Eggleston and I both gave talks in sacrament meeting. It was really good! I think the members were really listening to what we had to share about missionary work. Hopefully the wards just listens now.

4. Right after church we went to the stake center to fill up the font... LONG TIME! But it was great to get to reflect on Seth and how much he has learned.

5. The baptism! A little stressful but what an experience! Seth was a little nervous but at the same time you could see it how happy he was. While we was changing after his actual baptism, we got to share our testimony. I got to share how happy I was of Seth and the progress he has made. I will never forget him saying, "Calling for that free Book of Mormon was the best thing I ever did." He has made so much progress in remembering the things we have taught about and the fact that he has read up to Alma so far in the Book of Mormon. He has a strong testimony of the gospel and the teachings. He will be the first one to share it with you. He tells his family and friends all the time how they should listen to the missionaries. Even after his baptism he was going up to people sharing how happy he was! What a day for him. His whole countenance has changed. Its amazing! It will still be great next week when he receives the Holy Ghost!

 6. As for my studies, my favorite scripture this week. Doctrine and Covenants 30:11. He will always be with us. We cant fear. I have been reading D&C and I love it!
